Ninth ‘Salute to Pantomime!’

Saturday 27^h March 2010,

Winstanley Community College, Kingsway North, Braunstone Town

Following the fantastic success of our first eight ‘Salute to Pantomime’ events, which get bigger and better every year the ninth event is being organized by the Pantomime Alliance of Leicestershire (PAL). So put the date of Saturday 27th^t March 2010 in your diary and come along to enjoy the fun. The event will be held at the Winstanley Community College, Kingsway North, Braunstone Town and we hope you will all come along and enjoy the fun. Our ninth ‘Salute to Pantomime’ will be similar to our previous events with a competition open to all and everyone invited to the Awards ceremony on March 27th. The Committee is keeping the overall category of award for the ‘Pantomime of the Year’ so that one County Panto will be able to claim that they are the best in the County (they won’t be the best of course, its only in the opinion of the panto (and booze) besotted judges) – but there will be a CUP for the winner to hold for a year!! Hurrah.

The Competition

1. Each participating Pantomime Group will receive a clandestine visit from at least two members of PAL to one of your performances. From the performance they judge the following categories for a special mention and an award at the Event. The categories are:

Dame, principal boy, principal girl, villain, cow (or other animal!), best supporting role (female), best supporting role (male), comedy duo, singing, dancing, original script, lighting and sound and set design.

The event: Ninth ‘Salute to Pantomime’

The venue: Winstanley Community College, Braunstone Town

The date: Saturday 27^th March 2010

The time: Doors open at 7.00pm, please be seated for start at 7.30pm

Tickets: £2 per head

The evening will consist of short performances (10 mins. max.) by participating groups and the presentation of the Pantomime awards. We hope to have the honour of a local dignitary to present the awards.

The Cost - £20 per Group

In order to cover our costs we are asking for an entry fee of £20. All groups taking part will have their pantomimes advertised on the PAL website (www.pantomime-alliance.co.uk)

You do not have to enter the competition to send a party along to the event on the 27th.

If you do enter the competition we would require a minimum of two (max. of four) complementary tickets, so that we can come to a performance. Even if your Group does not intend to participate in the Competition, come along and support the event - the more the merrier - you will meet lots of other pantomimers from across the County.
